KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Aug, 2017 ) : The Businessmen Panel (BMP) of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has elected Mian Anjum Nisar as its Central President and Senator Ghulam Ali as Secretary General.

According to a press release issued here Tuesday the BMP group has been restructured so as to be better prepared for coming elections of the Federation. In its process of restructuring members of the group were said to have elected their central office bearers for a period of two years, and these besides president and secretary general also included Mian Zahid Hussain (senior vice chairman) and Mian Usman Zulfiqar (secretary finance).

The restructuring process was approved by the central executive committee of the BMP groups during a meeting chaired by its patron in chief Tariq Sayeed. During the meeting Khawaja Shahzeb Akram, Adnan Jalil, Zakria Usman (Former President FPCCI) and Naveed Jan Baloch (Former VP FPCCI) were chosen to head the group members of Punjab, KPK, Sindh and Balochistan respectively.

FPCCI members belonging to the BMP group during the meeting were said to had express their reservations about the performance of their opponent group. Vowing to resolve issues related to business community of the country, the BMP members observed that though Balochistan has gained prominence due to CPEC yet Balochistan based chambers were not awarded a single representation in the standing committees of the FPCCI.

They also took strong exception that permanent regional offices of the FPCCI in KPK and Balochistan were not built and this was despite the fact that two provinces have gained immense importance during recent years.

Reservations were expressed with regard to use of TDAP funds meant to be used for promotion of exports and that appointment of a full-time FPCCI secretary general could not take place during last three years in absolute violation of rule and regulations of the federation.
