Religious Ministry Seeks Peoples' Suggestions On Draft Umrah Policy

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -22nd Augst,2016) : The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Monday placed Draft Umrah Policy 2016 on its website and sought people's suggestions for improving Umrah arrangements. An official of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony told APP that the ministry has prepared a Draft Umrah Policy 2016 for the first time in history with the aim to enhance facilities of intending Umrah pilgrims.
According to draft Umrah Policy prepared by the Ministry, Umrah organisers have been directed to ink a service provider agreement with the Ministry. Umrah Welfare Fund (UWF) should be established.Appropriate literature, booklets, etc would be published and distributed among Umrah pilgrims on demand and request.
The Umrah Welfare Fund would be audited by the Auditor General of Pakistan. According to draft Umrah policy 2016, a complaint cell would be established in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to register complaints relating to Umran matters.
A Complaint Disposal Committee (CDC) on Umrah matters shall be constituted by Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. There would be only two packages including economy and standard.
The both packages should be provided to the ministry and uploaded on website of the ministry. The violators of the agreement should be imposed penalty of Rs 200,000 besides black listing the operator for future business.
