Lok Virsa To Pay Tribute To Renowned Actress Shamim Ara

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Augst,2016) : Lok Virsa Mandwa Film Club will screen film `Chingari' on August 20 at Lok Virsa Media Centre in order to pay tribute to actress-director-producer Shamim Ara (Late). Shamim Ara was as usual at her best with a serious role, supported by Santosh Kumar, Deeba and Ijaz. The 1964 musical hit brought together two musical genius, composer Khursheed Anwar and Noor Jehan.
Together they created music magic with some of most favorite humming melodies, Kali kali mandlaey,Mei to ker ker binti haar gai, Dil ki baat bataain kis ko, a press release said.
Shamim Ara had an interesting career; her first film Kunwari Baywa tanked at the box office but her role had the industry buzzing.
Shortly after that, she got a string of hit films under her name, such as Devdas, Humraz and others. She was awarded the Nigar Award four times. After retiring from acting, she went on to direct and produce several films. The film will also be streamed live on Lok Virsa's official website at 5PM.
