(Pakistan Point News – 19th August, 2016) : The general secretary of United Nations, BAN Ki-moon issued a written reply to the letter of PM Nawaz Sharif addressing the grave atrocities in Indian- held Kashmir by the Indian forces. He said that he deplore the loss of life in occupied Kashmir and hope that all efforts will be made to avoid any further violence. he said that he appreciate the continued commitment of Pakistan to the peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute for the sake of regional peace and security, as affirmed by the prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif in his letter to UN.
he assured that the united nation remains convinced that it is through the dialogue that the outstanding issues between Pakistan and India including the Kashmir issue can be addressed. he said that he stands ready to offer his good offices, should it be requested by both sides, to facilitate dialogue in order to achieve a negotiated settlement.
