Different Power Projects To Generate 20,000 MW Electricity

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Augst,2016) : Chairman board of Investment, Dr. Miftah Ismail said on Friday that 20,000 MW electricity will be generated after completion of various power generation projects in the country.
Talking to Radio Pakistan he said Karachi plant and Sahiwal coal will be completed in 2017 while coal project in Thar will get completed in 2018. He said three wind power projects are also being established in Sindh and two more coal mining plants are being placed in Thar. "All these projects will help to overcome energy crisis", he added.
He further said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is also a mega project and it would not only benefit Balochistan but also prove beneficial for the country's other provinces. He said It would also be beneficial for other countries in the region as government is making efforts for its timely completion too.
"CPEC have long lasting impacts on Pakistan as the youth needs jobs and this project will usher a new era of employment opportunities," he said.
