Parliament's Role Important For Accountability Of Institutions: Rabbani

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th August, 2016) : Chairman Senate, Mian Raza Rabbani on Thursday said that the role of Parliament is very important for accountability of the institutions.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of internship program of Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS). The Chairman Senate said that parliament can play important role in the implementation of the National Action Plan. He urged the young interns to have a look at the true picture of its history and understand the real spirit and true perspective of historical constitutional developments.
Rabbani while shedding light on the internship programme said that the initiative has been conceived after detailed celebrations with the sole objective to give the young generation a practical exposure of the working of the parliament its practical significance and the role it placed in the oversight of the executive thus promoting good governance.
Internship has been granted to forty five students from twelve different universities. Earlier in the welcome address Secretary Senate of Pakistan Amjad Pervez Malik while highlighting the objectives of the programme said that, internship opportunity will aim at addressing the misconception about political institutions among the general public especially youth of Pakistan.
