PTI's foreign funding case adjourned till Sept 6

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th August, 2016) : The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday adjourned hearing of the case of irregularities in the party funds of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) received from abroad till September 6 due to the non appearance of PTI's counsel.

A five member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner Justice (Retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan resumed hearing of the case, filed by PTI's former information secretary Akbar S Babar who had alleged corruption and violation of laws in collection of donations from overseas Pakistanis. During the course of hearing, counsel for Akbar Babar apprised the bench that the commission should take action against the respondents as their counsel was continuously avoiding his appearance in the case. However, the bench adjourned the matter till september 6.
