Ex Bureaucrat Salim Jhagra Resigned From Board Of Governors LRH Over Unpopular Decisions

PESHAWAR (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th August, 2016) : Former Secretary Health and member Board of Governors (BoG), Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), Peshawar, Salim Khan Jhagra has resigned from his post apparently as a mark of protest against unpopular decisions of board of the biggest public sector hospital of Khyber Pakthunkhwa. LRH Spokesman has confirmed the resignation of Salim Khan Jhagra as member of Board of Governors LRH, saying his resignation was sent to the Health Department for further necessary action. Salim Jhagra when contacted confirmed that he had resigned from member of Board of Governor LRH on personal reasons. "I resigned on personal reasons as I have some others very engagements and can not give time to carry the responsibility of member BoG LRH despite my retirment," he remarked. Following his resignation, the number of members of BoD LRH has reduced to five. Salim Jhagra is an upright, highly professional and honest officer and prepared a number of projects for development of infrastructure and improvement of health delivery system.
The sources said the major reason behind his resignation were stated to be the unpopular decisions of the BoD. The resignation may affect the decision making process besides making unnerve other members of the board, the sources added. The sources said following the retirement and keeping in view brilliant career of Salim Jhagra, he was included in the Board of Governors LRH as member to take advantage of his vast administrative and management experience. They said Jhagra has resigned as protest after his was not taking into confidence and was overlooked in consultation process in some important decisions about LRH. The sources said another member of BoG of Mardan Medical Complex Mardan, Prof Dr Ziaul islam had also resigned due to differences with the board.
