Work going ahead fast on Orange Bus Lane project: Nasir Shah

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th August, 2016) : The construction work on the Orange Bus Lane project was going ahead on a faster pace and the obstacles in its way have been removed. This was stated by the Sindh Minister for Transport, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah during a visit to the site here Wednesday. He pointed out that the shifting of the utility services' lines has been completed and piling foundation work is continuing. The Minister directed the Mass Transit Cell to ensure the timely completion of the project initiated under the Rapid Bus Transit initiative. On the occasion, Nasir Hussain Shah was briefed about the salient features of the project. It was pointed out that this very project would be completed by February next year.

The Orange Bus would commence from Shaharh-i- Orangi and merged with the Green Line at the board Office. The Minister directed that the work on the project should be carried out round the clock and be completed at the earliest for providing relief to the people.

It was informed that the service would be available to 50,000 passengers daily and there would be a station after every kilometer. Orangi lane would be spread to 3.75 kilometer of which one kilometer would be elevated lane which include Bacha Khan Bridge.

Of the four lanes at this bridge, one lane each would be allocated for the Orange Bus Lane. For the project two billion rupees would be spent under the annual development programme. The Orange Bus Lane project has been taken up by the Sindh Government whereas the Green Bus Project is being completed with the assistance of the Federal Government. The Minister said that RBT was an important project which would help provide better transport facilities in the metropolis.
