WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th March, 2023) The rapid development and deployment of hypersonic weapons systems is a top priority for the US Strategic Command (SPACECOM), command chief General Anthony J. Cotton told Congress on Wednesday.
"Rapid development and fielding of conventional Hypersonic Weapons is a top US STRATCOM priority," Cotton said in prepared testimony to the House Strategic Forces Subcommittee of the House of House Armed Services Committee (HASC). "The goal of fielding the first offensive hypersonic strike system is on the horizon with the Army scheduled to field a Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon battery in late 2023."
