PITB Organises 'Pakistani Start-ups Making Waves' Event

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th August, 2016) : In connection with the Independence Day celebrations, the Plan9 team of the Punjab IT board organised an event, 'Pakistani Start-ups Making Waves", powered by ATX+PAK Launch Entrepreneurship Program at Arfa IT Tower on Tuesday.
According to the PITB spokesman, the purpose of the event was to celebrate the growing start-up infrastructure in Pakistan and to commemorate the success of local entrepreneurs, who contributed to the growth of the industry.
Plan9 brought together a power panel of five renowned and esteemed individuals, who have diverse success stories: Suneel Munj representing PakWheels.com, Husnain Sheikh, Chairman and CEO Inov8 Limited, Monis Rahman, chairman, Naseeb Networks, representing ROZEE.PK, Qasif Shahid representing Finja and Imran Ali Khan co-founder of Zameen.

The panel was moderated by Nabeel A Qadeer, director, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development, PITB. In the first half of the event, Plan9's alumni startups Patari, car Butlers, Car Chabi, Wifigen, Transparent Hands, Optimaken, Mezaaj, VIVID Technology and Affordable.pk took the audience through their individual entrepreneurial journeys.
"Your future is bright, as international investors are looking to invest in Pakistan. You are in the right place at the right time," said Monis Rahman, chairman, Naseeb Networks, while addressing the start-ups in the audience.
PITB Chairman Umar Saif commented that he was glad to see the power panel and as Pakistan has recently been producing exceptional start-ups that have become able to raise investment, such panel discussions by success stories would further motivate and inspire budding entrepreneurs.
