European Stocks Drop At Open

LONDON, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Augst,2016) European stock markets fell at the start of trading on Tuesday awaiting regional data and following a slide in Tokyo. London's benchmark FTSE 100 index dropped 0.5 percent to 6,914.43 points, compared with the close on Monday. In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 shed 0.
7 percent to 10,666.72 points and the CAC 40 in Paris lost 0.5 percent to open at 4,476.07. Tokyo shares slumped in low-volume trade on Tuesday after a sharp rally in the Yen and disappointing second-quarter GDP figures hit investor sentiment, traders said. US indices meanwhile jumped to fresh records Monday on stronger oil prices.
