ISLAMABAD, (Pakistan Point News - APP - 15th August, 2016) : The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said all main rivers including Rivers Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej are flowing normal, except for River Indus, which is flowing in Low Flood at Guddu Barrage. According to daily FFC report, the river flows and reservoir elevations indicates that Tarbela and Mangla reservoirs are at elevations of 1536.90 feet and 1241.65 feet respectively, which are 13.
10 feet & 0.35 feet below their respective Maximum Conservation Levels of 1550.00 feet and 1242.00 feet. The combined live storage capacity of Tarbela, Chashma & Mangla reservoirs is 13.171 MAF as compared to last year’s 13.713 MAF. The Dam Management Authorities are advised to take utmost care and vigilance in operation and strictly follow SOPs and safety guidelines. Significant rainfall events reported by the Flood Forecasting Division, Lahore during the past 24 hours, include; Malamjabba = 71 mm, Balakot = 39 mm, Tarbela, Shinkiari & Risalpur = 38 mm each, Garhidupatta = 37 mm, Domel = 29 mm, Muzaffarabad & Okara = 26 mm each, Kasur = 22 mm, Kakul & Rawalakot = 19 mm each, Besham = 17 mm, Cherat = 16 mm, Hattian Bala = 15 mm, Jassar, Garhiala, Mianwali & Mandibahauddin = 14 mm each, Kallar = 13 mm, Dhok Pathan & Dir = 11 each, Oghi & Phulra = 10 mm each.
