KARACHI, (Pakistan Point News - APP - 15th Augst,2016) : A simple and impressive ceremony held to celebrate 70th Independence Day of Pakistan at the Special Security Unit Headquarters here, with the participation of families of martyred SSU commandos. Maqsood Ahmed Commandant SSU was the chief guest on the occasion, said a statement on Monday. Ali Akber, father of Muzaffar Khan, martyred commando hoisted national flag at the SSU Headquarters.
The senior officers and Commandos including lady Commandos prayed Almighty Allah for the prosperity, integrity and solidarity of the country and also recognized the services of martyred SSU Commandos who laid down their lives in line of duty. Commandant SSU Maqsood Ahmed while addressing said that the Commandos of Special Security Unit are capable to foil nefarious designs of the terrorists and hardened criminals. The officers and Commandos including lady Commandos are firmly committed to protect lives and properties of the people at any cost, he added.
Maqsood Ahmed said that the Pakistan Army is supporting the Police in providing professional training and making them capable to effectively crackdown the activities of the anti-social elements. On the occasion, the Commandos participated in the national songs, tablos, speeches highlighting the leaders who played effective role during independence movement for Pakistan and also paid homage to the Father of the Nation. The Commandos of SSU also demonstrated rifle drill. The speakers also lauded the efforts of law enforcement agencies especially Pakistan Army for taking successful action against the terrorists. Commandant SSU Maqsood Ahmed distributed certificates among the personnel and other staff for extra ordinary performance in their respective sections of SSU.
