Clean Drinking Water Govt's Top Priority: Kashif Parwani

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Augst,2016) : Chairman Punjab Saaf Pani Company (PSPC), Kashif Padhiar Monday said that provision of clean drinking water to the masses was direly essential for public health and Punjab government was implementing a mega project in this regard.
This was stated by Chairman PSPC, Kashif Padhiar while talking to APP.He said the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to provide safe drinking water to the marginalized communities in the province was being shaped into reality.
"Potable water is the basic right of every citizen and the government has allocated Rs 30 billion for clean drinking water projects", he said, adding that more than 80 water filtration plants have been installed in five tehsils of south Punjab.
To a question, Padhiar said that on the direction of CM Shehbaz Sharif the work on potable water projects has been accelerated.The CM has warned that no negligence would be tolerated in the implementation of public welfare projects, he added. He further said that Punjab Government has set an example of transparency and austerity by saving billions of rupees in the implementation of mega projects.
He assured that there would be no shortage of resources for important projects like supply of potable water.
