Farmers To Get Approved Variety Of Wheat Seed

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Augst,2016) : Agriculture department will provide approved variety of wheat seeds to farmers free of cost in each village through balloting with the aim to increase per acre yield. The department has sought applications from the farmers having 2 to 25 acres irrigated land and 1 to 25 acres barren land by September 15, said official sources here Monday.
Under the programme, each farmer will be provided 100 kilogrammes wheat seed for cultivation of two acres of land in irrigated areas,while 50 kilograms seed will be given to farmers in barren areas for cultivation on one acre land through balloting scheduled to be held at village level. The farmers who were beneficiaries of this program last year will not be eligible for these schemes this year, they added.
