Minister For Gender Equality,skilled Labour,eradication Of Child Labour

LAHORE,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Augst,2016) -Provincial Labour & HR Minister,Raja Ashfaq Sarwar stressed upon the need to increase awareness level among all the stakeholders in order to address the challenges related to across the board enforcement of Labour laws. "Punjab government is complying with the International Labour Standards (ILS) and related labour rights defined by ILO and other donor agencies",he observed.He said this while chairing a meeting held on Monday.
The Minister stressed upon the need for creation of such an environment that fosters productive atmosphere marked by freedom,equality,security and rights.Such conditions would pull working women and men out of poverty and sustain socio-economic development.
The minister said that human capital based,educated and trained work force together with improved Human Development Indicators (HDIs) was essential for competitiveness and global standards compliance,stated official spokesman.
He said the provincial government was taking concrete measures to improve working conditions of labour class, by improving wages,ensuring minimum wages, besides regulating working hours, health and safety measures.
The minister called for gender equality,enhancement of skilled labour and eradication of child/bonded labour."Social safety nets for workers and their family members were strengthened and expanded.These include health insurance, pension, workers' compensation, education, training and maternity benefits," he added.
