Preston University Commemorates Independence Day' With Immense Gusto

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Augst,2016) : The 69th Independence Day of Pakistan was commemorated here on August 14th by Preston University Islamabad with immense gusto. Chief guest of the occasion the Mayor of Islamabad, Sheikh Ansar Aziz hoisted the National Flag to mark the opening of the Independence Day celebrations, said a news release on Monday.
Abdul Hamid, Pro- Chancellor, Preston University was also present on the occasion while it was also attended by the faculty, students and staff of the university. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Islamabad, Sheikh Ansar Aziz expressed his profound appreciation for the enthusiasm demonstrated by the management and staff of university. He said Pakistan was created after mammoth sacrifices of our forefathers, so "we must always remember that without the dynamic leadership and untiring efforts of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the creation of Pakistan, a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent would perhaps not been possible.
In his message on the occasion Dr.
Abdul Basit, Chancellor Preston University said Pakistan came into existence after huge sacrifices made by our elders and the very able leadership of Quaid- e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the father of the nation.
This hapless situation, he said, calls for urgently establishing unity in all our ranks and rise above self, and shun personal prejudices. This perhaps is the only way we can bring progress and prosperity to this nation and make Pakistan conspicuously stand out in the comity of respected and developed nations of the world, he emphasized.
