ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Augst,2016) : M K Naqshbandi, prominent worker of Pakistan Movement, following the vision of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah containing principles of faith, unity and discipline can solve all the problems being faced by the nation. The nation too some extent pursued the principle of 'faith, but it lacked 'unity' and 'discipline', he said in an interview with APP.
He said,"The Independence Day reminds us the unforgettable contributions of great leaders of Pakistan Movement, who devoted their lives for getting an independent state where Muslims of Indo-Pak Sub-continent could live freely." He said the basic objective of Pakistan's establishment was to set up an Islamic, democratic and welfare state.
It was the right time to revive the spirit of Pakistan Movement in its true sense again, he said. M K Naqshbandi, who met Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah thrice as a student leader on different occasions, said the present generation was more aware and conversant with the ideology of Pakistan.
"They love Pakistan and work and render sacrifices for it whenever the time comes. They are more patriotic and more nationalist as Pakistanis," he remarked. "Our time was a struggling period against the foreign domination and exploitation by the Hindus.
While the present generation is facing economic constraints and defective education system," he said. He said it was the great achievement of Pakistan Movement that the Muslims of undivided India achieved their cherished goal of acquiring an independent Islamic state within the short span of seven years.
He said in its true sense, Pakistan Movement started in 1940, with the passage of Lahore Resolution at the All India Muslim League's session in Lahore and Pakistan came into being on August 14, 1947.
"No independence movement during the last two to three centuries got success in such a short period and that too without any war or aggression," he said. Naqshbandi said the Muslim students in length and breadth of undivided India played a unique role in Pakistan Movement.
"These students can be rightly called as the vanguard of Pakistan Movement," he added. M K Naqshbandi is among those members of a vanishing generation, who saw the chaotic days leading up to the independence of Pakistan with their own eyes and worked as a volunteer during the Pakistan Movement.
A veteran journalist, M K Naqshbandi also served in Associated Press of Pakistan from 1956 to 1986. He was among the Muslims who sacrificed their families for the holy land as 18 members of his family, including his mother and two sisters, were massacred on their way to Pakistan from Jammu on November 6, 1947.
M K Naqshbandi was awarded `Tehreek- e-Pakistan Gold Medal' on August 14, 1989 for his contribution in the Pakistan Movement. He was also awarded `Quaid-i-Azam Award' on the occasion of Golden Jubilee celebrations by Quaid-i-Azam Welfare Society to pay homage to his services for Pakistan.
