Azadi Train Attracts Huge Rush At Rawalpindi Railway Station

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Augst,2016) : Azadi Train, which arrived at Rawalindi Railway Station on Friday midnight from Peshawar, attracted huge rush of people since early morning on Saturday. The train, which started its one-month country-wide journey on Thursday from Margalla Railway Station Islamabad, will have two-day stay at the Rawalpindi station.
The Azadi Train has three different parts, consisting of six floats, six galleries and six operational vehicles. The visitors, including a large number of families, took keen interest in the multi-coloured bogeys of the train depicting the culture of four provinces, FATA, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan.
From senior citizens to children everybody was keen to see the glimpses of 'struggle for Pakistan's freedom' displayed at the beautifully decorated train. Muhammad Amir, a resident of 6th Road, told APP that he had brought his kids to see themselves how Pakistan came into being due to the sacrifices of their forefathers and enjoy the festivities arranged regarding the Independence Day celebrations.
He appreciated Pakistan Railways and other departments concerned for showcasing the culture, sacrifices of the armed forces and the struggle for the country's independence. The visitors took interest in the floats displaying the cultural traditions of all the four provinces, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK. The two coaches reserved for the armed forces highlighting the sacrifices of the war heroes were also the centre of attraction for the visitors. The train after two-day stay at Rawalpindi Railway Station will continue its journey towards other parts of the country.
Incharge Azadi Train Sajid Bashir Raja told APP that the train would stay at every station to provide an opportunity to the people of that areas to see the beautiful cultural and historical models displayed on the train.
