Badminton Tournament Held At Mehran University

HYDERABAD,(APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Augst,2016) - The Gender Equity Committee of U.S.- Pakistan Centres for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W), organized a friendly Badminton Tournament among the Centre's faculty and management at Mehran University Gymnasium.
The purpose of this event was to create enabling environment for both genders and develop team building, informed university spokesman here on Friday. The Dean Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering Dr.
Ghous Bux Khaskheli and, Director sports Engr. Saleem Ahmed Memon jointly inaugurated the tournament, which clinched by Greens comprising M. Shahid Panhwar and Maria Memon defeating Reds. The organizers formed a total of 12 teams each of two players from faculty and staff.
Under the gender equity plan, the spokesman informed that gender committee has developed gender activity plan for fall semester, 2016.
The aim of this plan is to undertake various initiatives to promote conducive and inclusive environment for women and girls in the campus. The senior faculty members and management of the Centre including Dr.
Kamran Ansari, Dr. Rafique A. Chandio, Dr. Rasool Bux Mahar, Dr. Munir A. Babar, Dr. Abdul Latif Qureshi, Dr. Shafi Muhammad Kori, Dr. Syeda Sara Hassan, Asmat Ullah, Awais Anwar Chandio, Muhammad Ali Nizamani and Waqas Ahmed also participated in the tournament among others.
