Hurriyet leaders call for `referendum march' on Saturday, Sunday

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Augst,2016) : The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, and Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in Indian held Kashmir, have called for Referendum March to Lal Chowk in Srinagar tomorrow (Saturday) and on Sunday. The march is part of the programmes to protest against the ongoing killing spree by Indian forces in the Kashmir Valley. Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement in Srinagar issued fresh protest calendar extending the shutdown till August 18, Kashmir Media Service reported. As per the protest Calendar, complete shutdown will be observed on Saturday and Sunday till 6pm and Referendum March towards Srinagar's Lal Chowk will be conducted from every mohallah, village, locality, Tehsil and District. If participants were stopped they will sit on the points of stopping and will continue protest till Sunday Evening.

Kashmiris and their sympathizers in other parts of the world will organize Referendum March in their respective cities and capitals. On Sunday, the Pakistan Day (14th August), during the Referendum March, special prayers will be offered for the stability of Pakistan after every Nimaz (prayer). On Monday, the Indian Independence Day (15th August), civil curfew will be observed to mark the day as Black Day and from 7 am onwards all the roads towards and around the place of celebration of Indian Independence day will be blocked. District development commissioners are asked not to hoist the Indian flag in any part of occupied Kashmir.

Parents are directed not to send their wards for participation in these celebrations.

People will hoist black flags on their houses, shops, market centers and local chowks and will wear black dresses or black bands.

Black Day will also be observed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and all the political parties and people of AJK will hold protests with black flags against Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmiris living in other parts of the world will protest with black flags in front of Indian embassies. On Tuesday (16th August), complete shutdown will be observed till 6 pm and members of all trade and manufacturing bodies including shopkeepers will hold sit-in protests from 11 am to 1 pm at all district's central markets. Women will hold protests from Zuhar to Asr and men will stage demonstrations from Asr to Maghrib.

Islamic and Azadi Taranas will be played from the loudspeakers of mosques from Maghrib to Isha and roof tops will be banged. On Wednesday (17th August), complete strike will be observed till 6 pm and march towards the UN office in Srinagar will be conducted from every mohallah, village, locality, Tehsil and District.

Sit-ins will be staged if the participants were stopped and will be continued till evening. On Thursday (18th August) complete shutdown will be observed till 6 pm and a poster letter asking all members of the so-called Kashmir Assembly and workers of pro-India parties to resign from their positions and parties be disseminated throughout occupied Kashmir via every media. People will hold demonstrations on all roads for one hour from 5pm to 6 pm and will offer Asr prayers on roads as a mark of protest.
