Govt Not To Tolerate One-wheeling On Independence Day

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th August, 2016) : Indiscriminate crackdown on the elements involved in one-wheeling in cities and towns of Punjab has been ordered. The government will not tolerate one-wheeling on the Independence Day in the province, a senior official of Punjab Home Department told APP here on Thursday. He said that the special teams have been constituted for controlling one-wheeling.
Action will also be taken against police officials concerned in case a complaint is received from any district in this regard, he said. He said that the law-enforcement agencies have chalked out a special plan for security and also to control traffic on the Independence Day. The plan is aimed at ensuring foolproof security for different activities and celebrations on August 14, he said.
Administration, Police and law-enforcement agencies would remain alert round-the-clock and effectively implement the security measures in this regard, he said. Action would also be taken under the law against underage drivers.
The official said that the instruction have already been issued for accelerating search and sweep operation against criminals and anti-social elements. Additional police force would be deputed in markets, bazaars and public places and sensitive areas while a watchful eye would be kept on entry and exit points of the cities.
The law would come into action immediately in case of firing into the air and display of firearms without any discrimination and political affiliation, he added.
