Over $1.4bln Exports Recorded In July

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Augst,2016) : The exports from the country during the first month of the current fiscal year were recorded at $1.479 billion, according to the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). As compared to the exports of $1.588 billion of the same month of the last fiscal year (2015-16), the exports in July 2016 witnessed negative growth of 6.86 percent. On the other hand, the imports into the country during July 2016 were recorded at $3.557 billion, compared to the imports of $3.348 billion in July 2015, showing increase of 6.24 percent, the PBS data revealed.
Based on the figures, the trade deficit during July 2016 increased by 18.07 percent when compared to the deficit of July 2015.
The trade deficit during July 2016 was recorded at $2.078 billion compared to the deficit of $1.760 during July 2015. Meanwhile, on month-on-month basis, the exports from the country declined by 10.42 percent in July 2016 when compared to the exports of $1.651 billion in June 2016. The imports into the country also witnessed negative growth of 20.37 percent by falling from $4.467 billion in June 2016 to $3.557 in July 2016, according to the PBS data.
