ISLAMABAD, (Pakistan Point News - APP - 10th August, 2016) : Parliamentary Secretary for National Health Services and Regulation Dr Darshan Wednesday apprised the National Assembly that vector born disease directorate was on the card to enhance coordination and training facilities among the Centre and provinces. Responding to a Calling Attention Notice raised by Shaista Pervaiz and others regarding rapid spread of vector-born disease in the country, he said health had now a devolved subject and was transferred to provinces under the 18th amendment.
He said the Federal government was regularly providing guidelines on public health to the provinces. Dr Darshans said Malaria Control Program at federal level was being expanded as Malaria had witnessed decrease in 2015, he added. He said the federal government was providing training to the provinces about Congo virus and Dengue disease in National Institute of Health (NIH) besides collecting data about various diseases.
