Pakistan Council of Renewable Energy Technologies Bill introduced in NA

ISLAMAABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th August, 2016) : A bill to provide for the establishment of Pakistan Council of Renewable Energy Technologies [The Pakistan Council of Renewable Energy Technologies Bill, 2016] was introduced in the National Assembly here Wednesday.

Minister for Finance and Revenue Mohammad Ishaq Dar on behalf of Minister for Science and Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain introduced the bill in the House. The Speaker referred the bill to the concerned Standing Committee for detailed deliberation.

The Statements of Objects and Reasons of the bill says, nature has gifted Pakistan with enormous renewable and environment friendly energy resources such as solar, biomass, biogas, microhydel, wind and geothermal etc.

These resources can positively support progress through tangible research and development efforts, designated to develop and promote technologies for sustainability, consistent with our socio-economic conditions.

Meanwhile, Chairman Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs Mian Abdul Manan presented the committee report on the bill to provide for salary, allowance, perks and privileges of the Members, Election Commission of Pakistan [The Members, Election Commission (Salary, Allowance, Perks and Privilege) Bill, 2016] in the House.
