A Rescuer Electrocuted, Two Injured

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th August, 2016) : A rescuer was electrocuted and two others suffered burn injuries as a high intensity electricity wire fell on Rescue 1122 fire-tender at Iqbal Town, here on Wednesday. The Rescue 1122 Fire Truck LF-30 also caught fire as an electricity wire snapped and fell on it, causing death to Muhammad Muddasir, driver of fire truck while two other rescuers Shahzad Jabbar and Hammad sustained burn injuries due to fire and electric shock. The injured rescuers were shifted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital immediately whereas Rescue 1122 DG Dr Arshad Zia and ESA DG Amir Hamza along with other officials visited the hospital to review the treatment arrangements for injured.
The martyred rescuer will be given guard of honour at Rescue 1122 Headquarters.
DG Rescue 1122, DG ESA, Regional Emergency Officers, District Emergency Officer (DEO) Lahore and all senior rescue officials will attend the funeral prayers. The DG Rescue 1122 said Muhammad Muddassar had rendered his services with honesty, dedication and devotion since the emergency service has been established.
The Rescue 1122 will provide all financial and moral support to martyrd family and it will also appoint one of his legal heir in the department as per government policy.
