River Chenab Near Multan To Have Medium Flood In Next Two Days

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th August, 2016) : There will be medium flood in River Chenab near Multan area during the next two days, said Irrigation officials. Talking to APP here on Wednesday, Irrigation Multan zone focal person for flood Tariq Aziz said that downstream water level at Trimmu headworks was recorded 152,000 cusec on Wednesday afternoon.
He said that India had released about 400,000 cusec water in river Chenab few days back. He said that water wave would reach Multan area Chenab river within next two days.
He further informed that they had finalized all arrangements to cope with any flood emergency as over 35 relief camps had been set-up at dyke of river Chenab in Multan area. He said the field staff was monitoring the safety embankments round the clock to handle any emergency. He said that flood emergency cell at Irrigation Multan zone office was also functional while citizens could get information about flood on these numbers 061-9200143, 9200139.
