All PIA Flights Undergo Thorough Security Check

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th August, 2016) : While clarifying media report, a spokesman for national carrier said that all flights of the PIA undergo necessary thorough security checks. This was stressed by the spokesman of the national flag carrier in a statement on Wednesday. With reference to some media reports regarding the incident that happened to an A320 aircraft at Islamabad airport a couple of days ago, it was clarified that all PIA flights undergo a thorough security check.
The spokesman further stated that as per standard procedures the said flight PK-451 also went through a security check and departed only after being cleared by security.
Similarly on the technical side, the aircraft was cleared by the engineer on duty before proceeding, he added. `The incident is being investigated internally by Safety Department and externally by SIB (Safety Investigation board) of CAA', the PIA spokesman further pointed out.
