PEF Organises Anti-dengue Lecture

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th August, 2016) : Punjab education Foundation (PEF) Wednesday organised a lecture on anti-dengue at its head office. PEF Managing Director Tariq Mahmood while addressing the participants said that PEF has devised a comprehensive institutional mechanism to ensure that its offices and partner schools are remained fully safe from the dengue disease. The lecture was delivered by Rana Abdul Qayyum, director (monitoring) of school Education Department to sensitize the PEF employees about adoption of different safety measures against dengue. Tariq Mahmood said PEF has ensured that instructions of the Punjab government, with regard to eradication of dengue, are fully implemented.
He added that role of teachers, as well as students, is really important in combating dengue disease, as both can motivate the people about effectiveness of their role in this crusade against dengue.
"We are committed to encourage the students to act as `socially responsible' citizens, and extend their full help in maintaining clean atmosphere in their homes and surroundings." He directed to include material about anti-dengue in program of annually held quality assurance test.
"This will further educate the students about the menace of dengue," he added. MD PEF further said that ignorance and illiteracy are more dangerous than any other disease, and added that credit goes to the foundation to wage war against illiteracy and helped the poorest of the poor to study.
Earlier, Rana Abdul Qayyum delivered a detailed lecture on adoption of anti-dengue measures and how people can remain safe from it.
