ISLAMABAD,(Pakistan Point News - APP - 10th Augst,2016) : Rain-thunderstorm (with isolated heavy falls) is expected at a number of places in Kashmir, Punjab, Islamabad, and at scattered places in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), FATA, upper Sindh and Gilgit Baltistan (GB) during the next 24 hours. Rainfall is expected at Sukkur, Larkana divisions, eastern Balochistan (Zhob, Sibbi, Naseerabad divisions) and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavy downpour may trigger flash flooding, landslides and GLOF events in the vulnerable areas of Punjab, KP, GB and Kashmir, an official of Met office told APP.
Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan. Yesterday's low pressure area over east Rajasthan (India) is now located over north Rajasthan and its adjoining areas. Under the influence of this weather system strong monsoon currents are penetrating in upper and central parts of the country and likely to continue during next 24 to 36 hours, he said. In last 24 hours rain-thunderstorm occurred at scattered places in upper Punjab, upper KP, Islamabad and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Mirpurkhas division and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Maximum temperatures recorded on Wednesday were Dalbandin 43øC, Nokkundi, Turbat 42øC, Sukkur, Bhakkar 41øC, Multan 38øC, Skardu, Quetta 37øC, Lahore, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Chitral 36øC, Hyderabad 34øC, Hunza, Muzaffarabad 33øC, Kalat, Karachi 32øC, Islamabad, Dir 31øC, Gilgit 27øC and Murree 22øC.
