Independence day preperations in full swing

SUKKUR,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Augst,2016) : Like elsewhere in the country, preparations to celebrate the 69th Independence Day are in full swing in Sukkur and its adjoining areas. As only four days left in Jashn-e-Azadi, the people belonging to every walk of life are busy in decorating their houses, shopping malls, bungalows, bazaars, car, buses, motorcycles, trucks and bicycles with national flags and stickers to celebrate the independence day with national zeal and enthusiasm. Special stalls in different bazaars including Shahi Bazar and Ghareeb Abad bazaars have been setup where customers especially children and students can be seen in significant numbers buying national flags, stickers and badges to celebrate independence day with great pump and show.

Muhammad Tahir, a shopkeeper in Minara Market told APP that he had been running this business for the past 31 years and people are showing great enthusiasm in buying things to celebrate Independence Days this year.

"I have sold thousands of flags, badges, stricter and other material this year".

he said The transporters are being seen decorating their vehicles with national flags, colourful stickers and banners inscribed with Independence Day greetings. Most of the cars, rickshaws, motorcycles and busses plying on the city roads can be seen decorated with national flags and stickers.

Ayaz Khokhar, a rickshaw driver, said he has already hoisted national flag on his rickshaw to show his deep love for our country. "I have also hoisted national flag on my house to celebrate the Independence Day in most befitting manner.

The joy of Eid followed by Independence Day celebrations has doubled his happiness this year," he remarked. Children and students are their main customers. "I came from Khairpur to Shahi Bazar Sukkur for buying a national flag to hoist it on the roof of my house in connection with Independence Day celebrations," Maqsood Imam a student told APP.
