BRUSSELS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd September, 2021) The president of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, was discharged from hospital in Strasbourg on Wednesday, where he was treated for pneumonia for a week.
"I am feeling better and yesterday the doctors at the Hôpital civil in Strasbourg allowed me to return to Italy to continue treatment for pneumonia. I would like to thank the medical team who took care of me with attention and professionalism," Sassoli wrote on Twitter.
The 65-year-old Italian politician was hospitalized last Wednesday at the height of the plenary session of the European Parliament. It was reported that Sassoli's coronavirus test was negative.
