Noor Mukadam Case: Lawyers of Therapy Works’ employees allowed time for preparation

A session court which had granted bail to six suspects after submission of surety bonds worth Rs 500,000 will resume hearing of the case by tomorrow.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday gave relief to the counsels of Therapy Works' employees to prepare their arguments on a petition seeking suspension of bail to the employees of Therapy Works in the Noor Mukadam murder case.

Justice Aamer Farooq heard the plea moved by Tahir Zahoor and five accused for bail suspension in the case.

During the proceedings, the counsels asked the court go grant them more time to prepare their arguments in the case. At this, the court granted them time for preparation.

On other hand, a session court granted bail to six suspects after submission of surety bonds worth Rs 500,000.

The petitioner had already approached the Islamabad High Court seeking cancellation of the bail of the suspects.

Police on September 9 had filed a challan in the Noor Mukadam murder case to a district and session court in the capital.

The court will resume hearing of the case on September 23 (tomorrow). All the suspects including Zahir Jaffer are also due before the court.

Advocate Raja Rizwan Abbasi had informed the court that he would move a plea seeking an in-camera hearing of the case, to which the judge remarked that he would decide it as per law after it is filed

The court had meanwhile extended the judicial remand of Zahir Jaffer, his parents and three of their household staff, identified as Iftikhar, Jan Muhammad and Jameel, till the next hearing of the case.
