Kazakhstan's lower house of parliament has approved a bill to ratify the agreement on the unified communication system of the armed forces of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) members, during a plenary session on Wednesday, a Sputnik correspondent reported

ALMATY (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd September, 2021) Kazakhstan's lower house of parliament has approved a bill to ratify the agreement on the unified communication system of the armed forces of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) members, during a plenary session on Wednesday, a Sputnik correspondent reported.

"The agreement envisages the creation of a unified communication system of the armed forces, the main task of which is to provide communication services and ensure the exchange of all types of information in the armed forces control system and between the armed forces of the states parties to the agreement, ensure the functioning of the joint systems of interaction created in the CIS format in the military sphere," Kazakh Deputy Defense Minister Timur Dandybayev told lawmakers.

The communication system, created on the basis of unified technical approaches, will increase the combat capability of the armed forces of the CIS member states, the official added.

The bill will now be sent to the upper house for further consideration.

The agreement was signed during a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government held via video link on May 29, 2020.
