Govt To Introduce Saraiki Language In Southern Punjab Schools

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th August, 2016) : Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer has said that necessary measures are underway to introduce Saraiki along with other languages in the schools of Southern Punjab from next year. He said that Chief Minister Punjab has accorded special approval for the 35 posts of Saraiki Lecturers. They would serve as a major policy instrument to promote the glorious Saraiki Culture and heritage in future, he added.
"Saraiki culture and civilization has historic continuity of thousands of year whose intrinsic cultural fabric is structured on the normative value system of peace and prosperity which is compactable with the universal value system of liberalism and progressivism", Minister maintained.
He further said that government was planning to establish Khawaja Farid complex near Gulzar-e-Sadiq which would serve as a great seat of learning to promote Saraiki culture language, and Art.
