SCBAP Announces 3-day Complete Strike To Condemn Quetta Blast

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th August, 2016) : President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Syed Ali Zafar requested all members of the Association to not appear before courts including the Supreme Court as part of complete three-day strike announced to express solidarity with victims of the tragic incident causing killing of more than 50 people majority of lawyers.
To make the strike meaningful Barrister Ali Zafar said that the lawyer community would protest the incident in front of the Parliament House. The President also demanded of the government to hold a high level meeting of Interior Minister, provincial Home Ministers, Inspectors General of Police of all the four provinces with the legal community and discuss a comprehensive strategy for ensuring foolproof security to them in premises of all courts of the country.
"The general public also deserves the same protection as the VVIPs of the country are being provided", the President mentioned. This is for the first time in the history that the Association has announced complete strke even of the Supreme Court, Barrister Zafar said. The President SCBA termed the Quetta blast as attack on the entire nation and Pakistan's justice system itself and the government must take adequate measures for the protection of the masses, said a press release issued here on Monday.
All members of SCBAP have been asked not to appear in the Courts during strike days, the press release said.
