ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th August, 2016) : The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Monday strongly condemned the Quetta blast causing killing of more than 50 persons including 25 lawyers and target murder of Bilal Anwar Kasi, President Balochistan Bar Association and expressed its complete solidarity with the victims and their families. President Supreme Court Bar Association, Syed Ali Zafar said that the Quetta blast was a targeted attack on the legal fraternity and made it clear that such covard acts could not deter judges and lawyers from upholding the rule of law in the past and would not stop from performing their duties in future.
Such barbaric attacks must be condemned by evry citizen not only by the legal fraternity, he said.
The reason behind these attacks to target the legal fraternity and to develop a sense of fear among this community, which has always supported strengthening democratic institutions and upholding the rule of law, said a press release issued by the SCBA here on Monday. The President SCBA said that it was the legal community that consistently tried to ensure dispensation of justice whether it was matter of honour killings, terrorism, human rights violations and other violations of the law and the Constitution.
"We will not allow such attacks to create fear and insecurity amongst the legal community as these have failed in the past to demoralize the nation and we will continue to fight against the menace of terrorism," he mentioned.
