Lok Virsa Pays Tribute To Renowned Actress Shamim Ara

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Augst,2016) : Executive Director Lok Virsa Dr. Fouzia Saeed on Monday paid tributes to film actress, director and producer Shamim Ara, who passed away in London on August 5, after prolonged illness. "Shamim Ara as a pillar of film trade, a major film artist and courageous woman who stood behind the film trade for over forty years," Fouzia Saeed said in a statement here.
She said that Shamim Ara's performance in films as an actress, then producer and finally as producer-director made significant contributions to film industry in the sixties, seventies and eighties. She noted that Shamim Ara must also be credited for introducing many new faces who later became bankable Names on movie marquee. Shamim Ara won National Film Award Lifetime Achievement.
Her notable films as actress include Saheli,Saiqa, Naila, Salgirah, Chingari, Lakhon Mein Eik, Aag Ka Darya and Farangi.
