ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th August, 2016) : Minister for Ports and Shipping Mir Hasil Bezinjo on Saturday said protests and demonstration were right of every political party but it should be used for public interest and not for personal agenda. Talking to ptv, he said call for protests and rallies by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) were based on their vested interests and leaders of both the parties were least interested in public issues. He said PTI had announced to stage protest in Lahore so its protest could not be named as a country wide movement as it was limited to a certain area. To a question on Panama papers' ToRs, the minister said the government was determined to hold across the board accountability of all those people whose Names were mentioned in Panama Papers while the opposition parties were insisting for investigation of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif only.
He expressed the hope that somehow deadlock would be ended in next meeting between the government and the opposition on ToRs. Commenting on protests of PAT, the minister said it would not be a political movement because the party did not have roots in masses and also there was no adequate public representation in its protests. It was the responsibility of the Punjab government to maintain law and order situation during the protests and tackle the situation to avoid any untoward situation, he added.
