ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th August, 2016) : Rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected at scattered places in Lower Sindh, upper Punjab, Federal capital and Kashmir while at isolated places in Khaber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), FATA, South Punjab, Balochistan, Upper Sindh and Gilgit Baltistan in next 24 hours. Rainfall is likely at Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha divisions, Islamabad, and Kashmir, while Isolated places in KP, FATA, Multan, Bahawalpur, D.G Khan divisions, Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Quetta divisions, Upper Sindh and Gilgit Baltistan. Heavy falls may generate flash flooding and landslides in the vulnerable areas of Punjab, KP and Kashmir, an official of Met office told APP. Heat low lies over north Balochistan.

Monsoon currents are penetrating in southern parts while good monsoon currents are also penetrating in upper parts of the country and likely to intensify during next 24 hours. A westerly wave is affecting northeastern parts of Afghanistan and its adjoining areas.

In last 24 hours rain-thunderstorm occurred at scattered places in Sindh, Kalat, Zhob, Sibbi, Quetta divisions while at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, D.

G.Khan, Peshawar divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. Weather remained hot and humid elsewhere in the country. Rainfall recorded during this time span remained in Sindh at Thatta, Sibbi, Badin 48mm, Karachi (Landi 47mm, Gulshan e Hadid 45mm, Faisal 40mm, A/P 36mm, Gulistan e Johar 34mm, North Karachi 30m, Sadar 30mm, Masroor 26mm), Hyderabad 30mm, Sukkur 26mm, Dadu 18mm, Shaheed Benazirabad 09mm, Mithi 08mm, Mirpurkhas 07mm, Jacobabad.
