Govt Making Efforts To Overcome Energy Crisis: SCCI President

SIALKOT,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Augst,2016) : President, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Mansoor Ahmad on Saturday said the government was making adequate efforts to overcome energy crisis and many project had been initiated in this regard.
Talking to APP, he said that due to effective policies of the government there was visible improvement in electricity supply as compare to past and hopefully it would be further improved. He further stated that mega project of Sialkot-Lahore Motorway would not only provide fast inter-city travelling facility but also minimize the travelling distance between Sialkot-Lahore, besides bringing economic boom in the region. The SCCI President further said that hopefully Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would perform stone laying ceremony early next week which reflects the government's commitment of improving the means of communication across the country. The linking remote areas with developed areas would bring revolutionary changes in the lifestyle of people and open up new vista of development and prosperity and generate employment opportunities, he added.
The mega project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will play instrumental role in bringing revolutionary change and usher in economic stability and prosperity not only in Pakistan but also in the whole region, he said.
He was of the view that Gwadar port would also play a dominating role in ensuring drastic economic stability and overall development of the country as well as in the region. The SCCI President urged upon the government to take steps for the revival of train service in this export-oriented city. Since long the train service on different routs had been suspended by the railway authorities due to unknown reason, as a result of which, transporters were fleecing people, he said.
He appealed to Prime Minister to direct railway authorities for the revival of train service on different routes at early as possible. The SCCI President said that business community of Sialkot would continue its efforts for strengthening national economy and enhancing the export volume to manifolds.
