Nine-a-side Pakistan Cup Hockey Tournament To Commence From Aug 7

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th August, 2016) : The Pakistan Cup nine-a-side hockey tournament will be played here from August 7 to 14. This was announced here on Friday by the Tournament Director, Olympian Mansoor Ahmed. Director Domestic Hockey of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), Olympian Naveed Alam was also present on the occasion. It was pointed out that as many as six team would be participating in the event. The tournament would be played at the Abdus Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium (Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium). A formal announcement regarding renaming of this stadium would be made at the inaugural ceremony of the event, it was further stated.

After substantial improvement in the law and order situation in Karachi, a major tournament is being organized in the metropolis which also marks the resumption of the restoration of the activities in this very game. According to organizers, the tournament would be played in accordance with the international rules.

The goal post has been widened by two feet. The match would consist of two half of 20 minutes each with a five-minute break.
