KARACHI, (Pakistan Point News - APP - 4th August, 2016) : The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, inaugurated the neighborhood security and development (NSD) office in Karimabad. A police spokesman said here on Friday that the office has been set up by the civil society. Office bearers of the NSD and chief of Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), Zubair Habib, were also present on the occasion. The IGP was informed that the NSD in collaboration with the community made arrangements for the installation of 100 CCTV cameras in selected blocks of Federal B.
Area and North Nazimabad. Of these 50 cameras of five mega pixel have already been installed for making security effective with community-police collaboration. The IGP laid stress on the community policing and added that this helps foster maintenance of peace in the society. He praised the cooperation on the part of the NSD and announced putting 12 policemen on the disposal of NSD. The IGP stated that in Karachi 21 community policing projects are being run in Karachi at the moment. He said that it was his desire that there should also be transparency in this regard.
