AJK Police Chief Confers Awards On Officials

MIRPUR (AJK) ,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 5th Augst,2016): Inspector General of Police Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Bashir Memon conferred awards on different officers in acknowledgement of their respective due role for ensuring the holding of peaceful general elections on AJK on July 21, 2016 A special ceremony was hosted to give awards to the officials of Pakistan Army, Returning officers and Mirpur District and Divisional Administration and other law enforcement agencies besides the Returning Officers.

Speaking on this occasion SSP Mirpur Irfan Salim highlighted the salient features of holding of the event at the Police Lines in the city. The ceremony was attended by senior officials of the district administration, subordinate judiciary, military officials, Returning Officers and journalists.

Speaking on this occasion Inspector General of Police AJK Bashir Memon applauded the exceptional role of all concerned law-enforcement institutions including AJK Election Commission, Pakistan Army, (Returning Officers from Judiciary), the civil administration including police as well as media for ensuring the holding of the July 21 AJK Legislative assembly elections in peaceful atmosphere.

Bashir Memon said that all credit of holding of the polls in peaceful manner equally goes to all concerned stake holders including print and electronic media besides the political parties and their candidates who were in the run in the polls.

Prominent among those who attended the ceremony included DIG Police Mirpur Range Sardar Gulfraz Ahmed, Brigadier Gulzar Ahmed, In-charge Army officer to supervise elections in Mirpur division and others.
