Pak Flag Hoisted In Rio Olympics Village

LAHORE,(APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Augst,2016) : Pakistan flag has officially been hoisted at the Rio Olympics Village during a welcome ceremony of the Pakistan contingent on Thursday.
According to information received from Shaukat Javed, Chef de Mission of the Pakistan contingent in Rio de Janeiro here on Friday, it was a great moment to see Pak flag hoisted in the village alongside the national flags of scores of other countries.
President POA Lt. Gen.(retd) Arif Hasan was also present on the occasion. The Pakistani contingent was welcomed by the Mayor of Olympic Village. Shaukat Javed who is also vice president of POA exchanged souvenirs with the Mayor on the occasion.
Shaukat said it has also been decided that Pakistan's flag will be carried by shooter Ghulam Mustafa Bashir in the ceremony of the Olympics. Mustafa along with a female shooter Minal and judo player Shah Hussain are the three players from Pakistan, out of total seven participating in the Olympic, who have qualified for the Olympics, said the Chef de mission. The other four players, two each from athletics and swimmers, including a man and a woman are making the trip on their wild card entries, he added.
