ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Augst,2016) : The High Court Bar Association has said that it will send letters to all embassies in New Delhi to ask their respective countries to send teams to take stock of the prevailing situation in the Kashmir Valley. According to Kashmir Media (KMS) , the HCBA in a statement issued after a meeting of its Executive Committee members in Srinagar to discuss the prevailing situation in the territory said, the purpose of the letter is to impress upon the United Nations to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the resolutions of its Security Council as its prolongation is harmful to both India and Pakistan and also to the people of Kashmir. The HCBA impressed upon India to bring an end to gross human rights violations in the territory by stopping the use of bullets and pellets and create atmosphere for holding a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.
The association also requested the OIC to convene an urgent meeting of its members to discuss the Kashmir dispute and to take concrete steps for ensuring the security and safety of the people of occupied Kashmir. It also asked the Amnesty International, Asia Watch, and other human rights organisations of the world as well as of India to send their teams to Kashmir to see as to what kind of beastly treatment is meted out to the people of Kashmir by Indian forces. Meanwhile, the HCBA asked all lawyers of the occupied territory to collect information about all those persons who have been killed, blinded, or injured by the forces.
They have been asked to forward the information, along with copies of the FIRs to the Bar Association. The Bar Association also condemned the killing of youth and use of force on peaceful protesters in the territory.
