IGP asks District SSPs to allocate one hour daily for public

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th August, 2016) : The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, has directed the District SSPs to allocate one hour of their duty timings daily for the general public to hear their grievances. A police spokesman said here on Thursday that the IGP has asked the District SSPs to take steps for holding `Open Kutcheries'. The police chief further instructed that prompt measures should also be taken for resolving the problems of the people. He warned that action would be initiated against those police personnel who would adopt delaying tactics regarding resolution of problems of the general public, cause harassment, adopt negative approach or move beyond their powers.

The IGP was of the view that the `Open Kutcheries' should serve to bridge the gap between the police and the general public and improve the image of the police in the eyes of the public.
