Sale Of Fireworks Continue In Twin Cities Despite Ban

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Augst,2016) : As Independence weekend draws near, the sale of fireworks has registered increase at small shops in different parts of the twin cities, despite ban on these manufactures.

A report aired by a Private news channel said, People, especially children, look busy in playing with them in the streets. Hassan Tahir, a citizen said that despite the ban traders were selling fireworks and firecrackers. "Children take more interest in fireworks than badges and other things.

Every time I go to the market, my children ask me to purchase fireworks for them", he said.

He said buying fireworks was wastage of money because children use it for entertainment of just a few seconds. Moreover, fireworks can be dangerous for children and can injure them and trigger a fire inside the house. "I cannot understand why the concerned department is not taking any action against the sellers of fireworks in the city," he added. A trader said, police take action against firework sellers rarely and some persons were also arrested in the past for selling fireworks.
