Bosan Pays Tribute To Late Agri Scientist Dr Iftikhar

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd August, 2016) : Minister for National food Security and Research Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan here on Wednesday paid glowing tributes to the services rendered by late Dr Iftikhar Ahmad in field of agriculture research and development. Addressing a ceremony held here to commemorate the services of late Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, he said government was determined to bring revolution in agriculture sector of the country to achieve food safety and security. The ceremony was held to name the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Conference Hall after the name of Dr Iftikhar Ahmad. The minister said Dr Iftikhar Ahmad had left a rich legacy for the aspiring scientists in form of his publications and research for development of agriculture sector.
The minister said agriculture research was vital for the development of the country, adding that country needed more scientists who could take forward the legacy of Dr Iftikhar Ahmad. "I appreciate and fully support the little gesture of FAO to commemorate his work by naming the conference hall after his name", he remarked. He said it would inspire the young scientists to work more dedicatedly for the development and promotion of agriculture sector of the country.
